Refreshed?

Well this was certainly a surprise. I was looking for a referb 12" powerbook and gave the local store a call. I was told that they did not sell referb units but they did have Refreshed units. I had to think for a second so I would not laugh.

Now one nice thing about their "refreshed" units is they are a bit cheaper. I think that the stores have refreshed units when some customer returns one. Other than that I am guessing all of the remanufactured units come from the factory from ones that were DOA.

The first refreshed unit lasted less than a week before a line appeared on the screen. The store was quite nice and took it back and even had a cheaper refreshed unit to exchange it with. I would have thought they would want to just repair the unit since it was a refresh but they treated it as it it had been purchased new and just exchanged it.

Refreshed just sounds funny to me. Must be an apple thing.
